THE world-class skills of highly rated light flyweight fighter Juanito Rubillar will be shown in the initial of one-season national television presentation of “Elorde Boxing Specials” program over 1BC Channel 13 tonight (Thursday morning

in the USA).

The one-hour program, which is formerly known as the long running

Ringside@Elorde with well-known international boxing reporters Rey Danseco and Dennis Principe as commentators, has a 13 weeks contract with the network for the primetime slot between 8:30-9:30 p.m every Friday.

The result of hard training of WBC No. 2 and IBF No. 8 ranked Rubillar (37-9-7, 17 KOs) in his preparation in the anticipated mandatory title shot for the WBC light flyweight championship will be noticed when Rubillar knocked out his veteran compatriot Edwin Ubatay in the third round.

The bout took place on rainy Saturday night as main event of “Kulog sa Elorde” card of neophyte promoter Edmund Jose, son-in-law of late Flash Elorde, at Elorde Sports Center in Sucat, Paranaque City.

Rubillar is preparing for his 3rd WBC light flyweight title shot. He holds the right to face the winner between current champ Eric Ortiz of Mexico and Fil-Am challenger Brian Viloria on Sept. 10 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Included as appetizer in the one-hour program are the impressive stoppage wins of newcomer Raymond Sermona (1-0, 1 KO), a hard-hitting 5-foot-4 super bantam with 33 inches reach, and 5-foot-5 undefeated flyweight Drian Francisco (3-0, 2 KOs0, protégé of former two-time world flyweight champ Erbito Salavarria.
