British fans have not seen the last of Ricky Hatton. Five of his last six fights have been held in America. The upcoming fight with Manny Pacquiao, scheduled for May 2, will take place in Las Vegas with the Thomas and Mack Center being the latest venue rumored to host the event. Ray Hatton, father and trainer of Ricky, told News of The World that British fans shouldn't worry. According to Ray, his son is going to fight in Britian before retiring.

More important than returning to Britian, Ray feels that a good way for Ricky to end his career would be a double retirement bout against Oscar De La Hoya. De La Hoya promotes Hatton under his Golden Boy Promotions company. Oscar wanted to fight Hatton in 2009, but lost the chance after Pacquiao stopped him on December 6.

“Ricky will not retire without having another fight in Britain. He is insistent on that. In an ideal world I think he would like the retirement fight to be at home. And 12-18 months down the line you could have a fight against someone like Oscar De La Hoya and they can say farewell together,” Ray said.
