The proposed bout between WBO junior flyweight champion Ivan Calderon (32-0, 6KOs) of Puerto Rico and WBA interim-junior flyweight champ Cesar Canchila (27-1, 21KOs) of Colombia - is being eyed for January 31, with Puerto Rico as the frontrunner to host it.

There is still nothing official, but that is the name being discussed," Calderon told Primera Hora. "We don't know if Brahim Asloum [full WBA champ] intends to remain as the champion or plans to vacate, which would elevate Canchila to full champion of the WBA. In Colombia they are not going to give us enough money for a fight like this, so it will be better if it happens in Puerto Rico."

If the Canchila fight falls through, Calderon admits that his options are limited.

"I have to take whatever comes.  I have the same problem as Juanma Lopez, there is no opponent out there and I am available to fight against the best," Calderon said.
