Despite recent rumors in the Indonesian press, Chris John (41-01, 22KOs) is still the WBA featherweight champion. Some of the overseas media had reported that John was stripped of his title. Both Team John and the WBA have disputed those reports. John makes his WBA mandatory on October 24 against undefeated Hiroyuki Enoki (27-0-2, 19KOs) in Tokyo, Japan.

BoxingScene.com was advised that John has two fight offers on the table, one against Rocky Juarez and another against Jorge Solis (31-1, 25KOs) of Mexico. Solis' lone defeat was to Manny Pacquiao by way of an eight-round knockout last April.

Speaking of Solis, he was scheduled to fight Jorge Samudio on the September 15 undercard to Jorge Arce-Rafael Concepcion in Mexico, but an injury has forced him to withdraw from the contest. No further details are available.
