Filipino prizefighters Rolly Mandahinog and Bernard Uclos, failed to snatch WBC Asian Boxing Council (ABCO) titles in two separate championship bouts the past Friday in Thailand.

Mandahinog, who previously held the ABCO flyweight title from June 2003 until March 2004, suffered a 6th round technical knockout loss to current ABCO super-flyweight ruler David Nakornluang (7-0, 4 Kos).

The Thai champion, who is ranked No. 27 by the WBC, weakened Mandahinog with hard body shots since round two. The Filipino went down twice to force the referee to intervene and was declared unfit to continue at 2:08 of the 6th.

Oclus took a unanimous decision setback to WBC No. 11 flyweight Panomroonglek Kratingdaenggym.

The scorecards read 118-111, 120-109, 120-108, all in favor of the undefeated Panomroonglek, who defended his regional title for the fourth time.

In other action, WBC No. 4 minimumweight contender Oleydong Sithsamerchai (16-0, 6 KOs) teaches another Filipino fighter Richard Garcia a boxing lesson en route to a shutout unanimous decision win.

On the undercard in Nonthaburi, RP bantamweight title challenger Noel Sungahid lost by a knockout at 1:42 of round five when he faced former WBC bantamweight champ Veerapol Nakornluang.

Nakornluang, ranked No. 2 by the WBC, floored Sungahid by a left hook in the fourth round and bombarded Sungahid with vicious punches to finished the fight when the Filipino failed to beat the count.

Another lowly-rated Filipino Dondon Lapuz got clobbered on the same card. He exchanged blows in the opening bell but fell short againt WBC No.2 ranked superbantam Napapol Kiattisakchokchai.

The Thai stopped Lapuz with a left hook in round 2 of a scheduled 10 rounder.
