It appears that Floyd Mayweather Jr., the number-one pound-for-pound fighter in the world, will make his pro wrestling debut at the WWE's signature event, WrestleMania 24, on March 30 at the Cirtus Bowl in Orlando, Florida.

Mayweather made his first appearance for the WWE during their "No Way Out" pay-per-view, which took place Sunday night at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas. The seven-foot giant known as "The Big Show," returned to the company and attacked the much smaller Rey Mysterio Jr.

Mayweather, who was sitting ringside, jumped in the ring with some of his entourage, to help Mysterio. Show would push Mayweather, who was being held back by his crew. After Show dropped to his knees and dared Mayweather to strike, the reigning WBC welterweight champion would execute a quick combination of punches that busted Show's nose and his mouth. There was a lot of blood oozing down from Show's face, who immediately ran after Mayweather and his crew, before Shane McMahaon would block him off in order to calm him down.

The angle went over big and created a lot of attention on the internet. Time will tell how much attention it will create in the mainstream media. Dave Meltzer, regarded as one of the top wrestling journalists in the world, reports that Mayweather take part in tag team match at WrestleMania, teaming up Mysterio Jr. against The Big Show and a mystery partner, which is likely going to end up as Shane McMahon. Meltzer also reports that Mayweather did not pull his punches very well when during the angle at No Way Out, and legitimately broke Show's nose.

With Mayweather's lack of wrestling experience or ability to properly take bumps (a wrestling term for taking hits), Mysterio, by far the most polished wrestler of the four, will have to carry the match. I'm sure Mayweather, who's scheduled to fight Oscar De La Hoya in September rematch that will bank him over $20 million dollars, will try to spend as little time in the ring to avoid any chance of suffering an injury.

In 2007, Mayweather took part in the very popular reality series "Dancing with The Stars," and the move made him a household name with the show getting tons of media attention from all over the world. It's too early to know if his WWE stint will be apositive or a negative for his career.
