BoxingScene understands that Amir Khan (31-4, 19 KOs) will be unveiled as a sensational signing for Eddie Hearn tomorrow at a press conference at London's Dorchester Hotel as he seeks to kick-start his career with Matchroom during 2018 after sitting out 2017 entirely.

"King" Khan last fought in 2016, a sixth-round KO loss to Canelo Alvarez for the WBC middleweight title at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and recently filled in some time, and gained even more column inches, with a stint on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!.  He has been in talks about his future over recent weeks, culminating in him making a final decision about his next move over the weekend.

The Bolton-born boxer spent 2014 and 2015 pursuing a showdown with either Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao, posting wins over Luis Collazo (W12), Devon Alexander (W12) and Chris Algieri only to fail to secure either of his two main targets.  Instead, Khan was offered a 155lbs catchweight contest against Alvarez, boxing well early on before getting hit with a huge right hand.

Khan has confirmed that he will get his boxing career underway again early in 2018 and will sign with Hearn for what could be three fights that may see him work his way towards finally settling domestic matters with long-time rival Kell Brook.

"Special K" lost his second fight in a row when facing Errol Spence Jr. at Sheffield's Bramhall Lane football ground in May of last year and is due to make his return on March 3 when he meets Belarus-based Siarhei Rabchanka at the Sheffield Arena over 12 rounds in his first fight at 154lbs.

A former IBF and WBA light-welterweight titlist, the 31-year-old lost the WBA belt by fourth-round TKO loss to WBC holder Danny Garcia in July 2014 before rebounding with a brace of wins over Carlos Molina (W RTD 10 in Los Angeles) and Julio Diaz (W12 at Sheffield's Motorpoint Arena) in December 2012 and April 2013 respectively.

Despite this recent staccato schedule, Khan remains a draw and has been constantly linked with Brook and other fighters despite some time out of the ring, if not the headlines.
