British boxing veteran Paul Smith (38-6, 22 KOs) is getting his final chance to capture a world title, when he takes on WBA "regular" super middleweight champion Tyron Zeuge (20-0-1, 11 KOs).

The fight takes place on June 17th at the Rittal Arena in Wetzlar, Hessen.

Smith has won his last three fights in a row after losing three in a row, including back to back decision losses to then WBO 168-pound champion Arthur Abraham.

Last month, George Groves captured the WBA's "super" version of the super middleweight belt with a stoppage victory over Fedor Chudinov on the Kell Brook vs. Errol Spence undercard at Bramall Lane in Sheffield.

Groves, who stopped Smith in 2011, is hoping the veteran is able to pull off the big win  - which would open a lot of doors, including a rematch with Groves to unify the two WBA belts. He could also pursue a rematch with IBF champion James DeGale, who also holds a TKO win over Smith.

Smith is very well known by the German boxing fans after his competitive battle with Abraham.

"This is a great opportunity for Smith and I genuinely wish him well. Of course he is going to take this fight. The German fans have seen him lose twice to Abraham so he has a good enough reputation in Germany. It might even be better than his reputation over here, so of course they are going to look to make this fight with Zeuge, it makes complete sense," Groves told Sky Sports.

"Now Smith has got to get his head down, get screwed on because he hasn't got years left in him, but if he wins this, it will open up doors for him. He's been a great ambassador for our sport and is good for British boxing, so if he does pull this off and become a world champion, no-one can take that away from him."
