MGM NATIONAL HARBOR, MD - In an IBF final super middleweight eliminator, Andre Dirrell (26-2, 16 KOs) defeated Jose Uzcategui (26-2, 22 KOs) by disqualification after eight rounds. An ugly scene erupted after the fight.

Dirrell now becomes a mandatory challenger to IBF world champion James DeGale of the UK.

Dirrell came out boxing in the first round, in what was a quiet three minutes. During the second round, Uzcategui rocked Direll and had him in some serious trouble. Uzcategui continued to land the harder shots in the third, but Dirrell was starting to do a little better by the end of the round.

Dirrell began to work his way back into the fight by the fourth round, and really started boxing well in the fifth. Uzcategui became very timid and was no longer charging in as Dirrell was able to time him much better with accurate counters.

Uzcategui became more aggressive again by the seventh, pressing and looking for something big, but Dirrell was jabbing and exploding with punches when needed.

Dirrell controlled the eight round, but at the end Uzcategui blasted him with a combination of punches which came after the bell - which saw Dirrell fall face first. It was the second time where Uzcategui hit Dirrell after the bell and the referee disqualified him.

Dirrell was unable to get back up and was laying on the mat as the referee ordered in medical officials to check on Dirrell.

After the fight, a post-fight brawl erupted between the camps after a Dirrell team member began punching Uzcategui several times in the face. Chaos erupted in the ring and security separated both sides before things got uglier.

The crowd was unhappy with the outcome and began to boo Dirrell, who started blasting the crowd while being interviewed by Showtime.

At the time the fight was stopped, the judges had Uczategui winning by majority decision based on scores of 77-74, 77-75, 76-76.
