Errol Spence (21-0, 18 KOs) is looking forward to a "toe to toe" battle with IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-1, 25 KOs).

Their fight is scheduled to take place in Brook's backyard, at Sheffield's Bramall Lane on May 27, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

"It's going to be a great fight from both sides. He's an exciting fighter too - he's a boxer-puncher, I'm a boxer-puncher. Our styles are going to clash and we're going to go in there and go toe-to-toe," Spence told Sky Sports.

Spence is not intimidated by what is going to be a packed pro-Brook crowd. He says "the fans can't help him, it's going to be a war."

He aims to replicate exactly what Brook accomplished back in 2014, when he traveled across the ocean to Los Angeles to win a close decision over Shawn Porter to capture the IBF title. Brook's last fight took place at 160-pounds, when he moved up by two weight divisions last September to suffer a stoppage loss at the hands of IBF, IBO, WBC, WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin at the O2 Arena in London.

The 2012 United States Olympian is starting to get a lot more respect for his punching power.

He blew away former world champion Chris Algieri and Italian Olympian Leonard Bundu. Algieri had previously gone the full distance with WBO champion Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan and Ruslan Provodnikov. And Bundu went the twelve round distance with current WBC, WBA champion Keith Thurman.

"I was able to stop both of them," said Spence. "I think this fight is at the right time for my career. True fighters go into the champion's backyard and try to take the belt. That's what he did - he went to the United States and took the belt from Shawn Porter, and that's what I plan on doing."
