Eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao left the door open to another mega-fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. - after the retired fighter was ringside on Saturday night at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, to watch Pacquiao's championship winning victory against Jessie Vargas.

Pacquiao came out of a short-lived retirement to beat Vargas via unanimous decision and regain the WBO welterweight title he lost to Mayweather in last year's 'Fight of the Century'.

Mayweather called time on his own career after taking his record to 49-0 against Andre Berto in September 2015, but has since teased a return to action in a possible crossover bout with UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

Pacquiao turns 38 in December, while Mayweather will be 40 in February, but 'Pacman' suggested the dream fight could be staged again after confirming he invited his great rival to Saturday's bout

Mayweather gave Pacquiao a thumbs-up and mouthed "not bad" after victory was confirmed.

If the fans want it, Pacquiao is ready to make the fight happen. The Filipino superstar is returning home to focus on his duties as a senator.

Pacquiao realizes that a lot of fans were upset with the lack of action in the first Mayweather fight. Mayweather boxed his way to a twelve round unanimous decision last May, in a fight that generated over $600 million in revenue and 4.6 million pay-per-view buys.

Since that contest, most boxing pay-per-views have barely been able to reach 500,000 buys and none have been able to break a million.

Pacquiao wants to regain the trust of the fans, which is why he would go all out if a rematch with Mayweather happened. He blames a pre-existing right shoulder injury for his lackluster showing in the fight.

“My contract is not mine alone, but also the fans of boxing. If the fans want the rematch [with Mayweather], then why not? We can easily talk about that. It’s not a problem," Pacquiao said.

“I believe that if there was a rematch, I want to make sure the fans will love it. I will give with all I can do to get back the trust of the fans. If there’s a rematch, I’m going to make sure the fans won’t be disappointed.”
