Nathan Cleverly is getting support from several past opponents as he gets ready for tomorrow night's fight with Juergen Braehmer for the WBA 'regular' light heavyweight belt on Saturday night, live on Sky Sports, in Neubrandenburg, Germany.

One of his supporters is WBO/IBF/WBA 'super' world champion Sergey Kovalev, who knocked out Cleverly for his first world title, the WBO, back in 2013.

"I think that Cleverly has a very good chance to get victory over Juergen Braehmer, but Braehmer is a tough fighter," Kovalev exclusively told Sky Sports.

"He can take hard punches and stay on his legs. This will be an interesting fight, but I think Cleverly will win on points. I wish him the best of luck and victory for him over Braehmer."

Before Kovalev can thinking about facing the winner in a mandatory fight, he must first overcome Andre Ward on November 19th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

"Let me get the win and then I can say yes or no, but right now, I cannot say what it's going to be like," said Kovalev. "I just have my goal to get victory over Andre Ward. This is a huge test for me in my boxing career and I must be ready."

Another fighter backing Cleverly is his career rival Tony Bellew, who holds the WBC cruiserweight world title.

Cleverly decisioned Bellew when they fought at light heavyweight in 2011. Bellew got revenge with a decision win during Cleverly short stint at cruiserweight.

"I wish him good luck and I hope he pulls it off," he told Sky Sports. "I hope he beats Braehmer because I do believe if he'd have fought him when he should've fought him all those years ago, he would've beaten him.

"I am just not sure about the miles on the clock and how much desire he's got left in him. Only Cleverly will know himself. One thing I will say is the money won't be great going over to Germany that's for sure, so that won't be an issue and you can't say he's just going out there for the money.

"He is the challenger and he's not the mandatory challenger either so he must be going out there with the belief that he can beat him. And as I said, depending on how much he wants it, he has the capability of beating him. He can definitely out-work him."
