Later tonight at the Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino, Petr Petrov (37-4-1) will face Michael Perez (24-1-2) in the evening's main event that will broadcast live on Estrella TV and stream live on Ring TV.

The 12 round scheduled bout is a WBA lightweight eliminator for the right to face champion Jorge Linares who recently defeated Anthony Crolla to win the title.

The 33-year-old Petrov said that he is in great shape and can't wait to step in the ring.

"My training camp was great. I started out training in Madrid, Spain with my brother and then I came to LA where I worked two months with my trainer Danny Zamora and my strength and conditioning coach named Diego Arias and everything went well. I had a lot of good young fighters spar with me and all of them gave me great work," Petrov stated.

Petrov said that he was impressed with the way Linares fought and while he's focused on Perez, he admitted that he did pay attention to Linares' strengths and weaknesses.

"I saw the fight. It was a great fight. Linares did a great job and is a great champion. That is my mentally for when I see a fight like that and I see what Linares did - I look at the fight and think of what I would have to do to beat him," Petrov revealed.

His last fight took place in June when he stopped Marvin Quintero in 6 rounds after a 13 month layoff. Petrov said that he feels like he will perform even better in this fight since he won't have any ring rust to shake off.

"I feel a lot better for this fight than the last. My body is in rhythm and I should have a better performance," said Petrov, who in closing told the fans they can expect a great fight.

"I plan on giving the fans my all. They can expect a lot of action and two fighters who trained hard and will give them a great show."
