Eddy Reynoso, trainer of WBC middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs), says his fighter has fought a much higher level of opposition in comparison to WBA/IBO/IBF champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs).

Golovkin is the mandatory challenger to Canelo's WBC title, which the Mexican star defends next Saturday night against Amir Khan at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The winner of Canelo-Khan must defend the title against Golovkin in the fall. Canelo is a very big favorite to win the fight.

If the fight takes place, Canelo wants the contest to be held at a catch-weight of 155-pounds - and not the middleweight limit of 160. Canelo has fought at 155 in his last four contests and the fight with Khan will be held at the same weight.

Reynoso says they are interested in the fight, but feels there is too much being made of Golovkin's victories and undefeated record. He doesn't see any reason to give GGG any advantage in the fight, including the agreed upon weight limit.

"It's a tough, tough fight - because he is already used to fighting at 160-pounds, while we are trying to reach that weight. It is an attractive fight with their two styles - but without a doubt Saul has everything to win," Reynoso told ESPN Deportes.

"Golovkin has not beaten anyone, and I say this with all due respect. In his boxing history, he has faced opponents of a lower level than those faced by Saul, who has faced the best of his division."

"So we are interested in a fight, but this issue is a business and while we were at the bottom of the boxers who were above us, as was the case with Floyd Mayweather - we gave certain advantages. Today, we are not willing to give no advantage and when they are agreeable to our conditions - the fight will happen."
