Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) may not have enjoyed yesterday’s press conference in Germany yet the reigning world heavyweight Champion still managed to inject controversy into the day despite claiming to be bored by the whole thing.  Fury meets Wladimir Klitschko (64-4, 53 KOs) on July 9 and this was the pair's second face-to-face presser in the space of a few days.

After a fairly low-key affair by his standards, Fury Tweeted: ‘Today's presser was crap mostly in German, very big event, same s**t different day, rather be at hope (home) with (Paris Fury) hoovering the floor.’

Fury also had time for a quick online spar with TV personality Piers Morgan, who had made some negative comments about Fury’s weight following his appearance at a presser in Manchester on Wednesday.

The two went back-and-forth online, and Fury told Kugan Cassius of iFL that Morgan could learn a thing or two from him.  He said: “Piers tweeted a fat picture of me, saying he's fitter than the heavyweight champion of the world and inspirational.  I tweeted back saying: ‘If only you could talk like me you'd have your chat show in America back on TV.’

“I'm not really interested.  I've got no celebrity friends.  I've got no different friends than I've had all my life.  Just the same person, a simple person.  I just want to be left alone in peace so I can have a chicken sandwich.  I've said it a lot of times, haven't I?  It must be true.  After this fight I'll have enough money to retire and there'll be no motivation to carry on.”

The 27-year-old also said that his words and actions are dictated by his rapidly changing moods, arguing that there is no happy medium for him.  “It's either high or low,” he told Cassius.

“I'm either off my head on cocaine or down on the floor from a tranquiliser injection.  Most of the time, I'm just down and depressed like today—for every high there's a low.  I don't care whether I win or lose—I'm sick of it.  I'll tell you what would be funny, if I turned up in this shape for the fight.  I'd be fucked after five rounds.”

With the early media gambits behind him, Fury has pledged to hit the gym next week as he bids to chisel his weight down and work on a game plan.

Klitschko has vowed to KO his brash opponent at the Manchester Arena and, as ever, the 40-year-old Germany-based Ukrainian will be in great shape for what could be his last fight should he lose again to the younger man.
