BoxingScene.com has confirmed with multiple sources that Roberto Garcia has withdrawn from his scheduled fight on Saturday night with unbeaten welterweight prospect Errol Spence Jr. (16-0, 13KOs). The fight was scheduled to be the Premier Boxing Champions televised co-feature on NBC from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The card is headlined by a twelve round fight between Adrien Broner and Shawn Porter.

From what BoxingScene was told, Garcia was struggling to make the welterweight limit. But a source close to the boxer told BoxingScene.com that Garcia is unable to go forward due to "undisclosed personal reasons" and claim the situation has nothing to do with weight.

The current frontrunner to replace Garcia on short notice is welterweight contender Phil Lo Greco (26-1, 14 KOs) of Canada.

This marks the second date this year where Garcia (37-3, 23 KOs) withdrew from a fight with only days to go. He was set to face Shawn Porter on March 13 as part of a Premier Boxing Champions card on Spike TV. He claimed to have been ill after no-showing the weigh-in. Porter still went forward, knocking out very late replacement Erick Bone in five rounds.

Garcia came back on April 14, at a contract weight of 150-pounds, and got off the deck to stop James Stevenson.

Lo Greco can box, but he's been inactive. He banked a stay-busy win in March - after a near two-year layoff. Before securing that eight round decision win, he was out of the ring since May 2013 when he was dominated by Porter.

Lo Greco is in shape and current helping Jessie Vargas prepare for his June 27th scrap with Timothy Bradley.
