LOS ANGELES --- John Molina has never been known as a defensive specialist.

He's more of the blood and guts side of the sweet science rather than the sweet side.

That's why many are expecting fireworks when Molina meets up with hard-punching Lucas Matthysse for the vacant WBC Continental Americas light-welterweight title on Saturday night at StubHub Center in Carson on Showtime.

"I go out there and fight the fans' style of fight," said Molina at Westside Boxing Club. "I go out there and throw punches and when I land it hurts you. People like to say that my fights are so intriguing because of my 'lack of defense.' You know, that makes the fight entertaining for the fans. A shot could end it at any moment. But we're prepared to show what we can do against Matthysse. Can he hit like a ton of bricks? Absolutely.

"With that being said, I feel like I belong. I know I belong. I'm here for a reason. I'm here to give the fans their money's worth and that's what they're going to get."
