Former champion Amir Khan has several potential Plan B options, according to the British boxer himself. Khan is waiting for WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., who returns on May 3d at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, to announce his next opponent.

Khan, along with WBA welterweight champion Marcos Maidana, are the two frontrunners to get the fight.

If Mayweather decides to go with Maidana, then Khan will return in April or May against one of three potential options. Khan and his team have already discussed the possibility of facing IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter, going up against the recently defeated Adrien Broner - or even a rematch with IBF 140-pound champion Lamont Peterson, who holds a controversial split decision win over Khan.

“We have discussed names like Adrien Broner, a rematch with Lamont Peterson or maybe Shawn Porter. Who knows? I never say no to a fight if it is a big fight, Khan told The National.
