Former multi-division champion Vic Darchinyan (38-5-1, 27KOs) felt disrespected that so many people had him as the underdog in Saturday's fight against unbeaten super bantamweight contender Orlando Del Valle. Darchinyan used his experience and rough tactics to hand Del Valle (16-1) his first defeat as a pro with official scores of 96-94, 99-91 and 99-91.

"Can you believe that they put this kid in front of me [as the favorite]? I was upset. I couldn't even believe [it]. I was upset you know. Why....did they think he was going to beat me? I won every round. I said I wasn't going go for a big punch, I was going to win every round. For me it's no surprise, I knew it was not going to happen. The guy was very slow. I could see everything [coming]. It was very easy for me. I won eight world titles and I became the undisputed world champion [at super flyweight]. Then I'm fighting with some kid and they put him as the favorite. I couldn't even believe that," Darchinyan said to BoxingScene.com.

Darchinyan now wants a rematch with WBC champion Abner Mares (24-1, 13KOs). Darchinyan lost a close split decision to Mares in December 2010. Mares defends the title on November 10 against Anselmo Moreno.

"I want Abner Mares and then I want any world champion. I want Abner Mares because you know what happened in the past. I won the fight...they robbed me. It was a close fight, but I won the fight. I want to fight him again," Darchinyan said.
