Throughout the week, music mogul-turned promoter Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, has been making the rounds in Las Vegas ahead of his first promotional venture.

50 Cent’s SMS Promotions handles the career of former featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa, who will meet Philippines native Michael Farenas this Saturday night inside of the MGM Grand on the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez IV undercard.

As I had been noting the past few weeks, 50 Cent has set up shop in Las Vegas by becoming somewhat of a co-owner of a new gym in the city, one that happens to be directly beside the Top Rank Gym right off of the strip. [For an inside look at the gym, click HERE]

And while the facility isn’t finished being constructed quite yet, it appears that 50 Cent is already looking for a new building after a recent misunderstanding.

Apparently, on Thursday afternoon, Marquez was looking to get some light work in a few days before the Pacquiao clash, as he elected to stop by 50 Cent’s gym for his routine.

Upon Marquez’s entrance to the gym, nearly everyone inside of the facility was kicked out, expect for another one of 50 Cent’s fighters, super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell, his trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr., and a few others.

The only problem is that one of Floyd Sr.’s key fighters, talented lightweight prospect Lydell Rhodes, who was then in the middle of a workout of his own, was also told to leave by the gym’s co-owner. This didn’t sit too well with Floyd Sr., who claimed he would have no problem leaving the building for good and taking his fighters with him.

After being advised by an insider that 50 Cent was looking to find a new gym in the wake of the misunderstanding, I did a little more digging and can confirm that 50 Cent and his team are going to be looking for a new spot in the city.

“Yeah, they just told me today that 50 is going to get a new gym,” Rhodes told me on Friday. “So we are going to be moving, but I don’t know where it will be yet.”

So, while 50 Cent has been all smiles as he soaks up fight week, some definite drama has been brewing behind the scenes.
