American Bank Center, Corpus Christi, Texas - Former champion Paul Williams (41-2, 27KOs) returned to the ring to win a dominating twelve round unanimous decision over Nobuhiro Ishida (24-7-2, 9KOs) in a junior middleweight contest. All three of the judges scored it 120-108.

Williams was busier from the start, but neither boxer doing anything too impressive in the first three rounds. Ishida was landing good left hands that stunned Williams, but the former champ fired right back. Williams was throwing a lot of punches, but not landing too many of them.

Ishida landed some well-placed hard punches in the fourth, with Williams coming back in the final ten seconds. In the fifth round, Williams found his range on the inside and started to work Ishida over with shots to the head and body. Ishida allowed himself to be outworked and outhustled in each passing round by the much busier Williams.
