WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan took notice of a recent statement that was made by once-beaten super middleweight, James DeGale. The Olympic gold medal winner made a comment regarding the job that his promoter, Frank Warren, was able to do by resurrecting Khan's career after his 2008 knockout loss to Breidis Prescott. DeGale, who recently lost the first fight of his career against George Groves, will face Poland’s Piotr Wilczewski for the European title in September.

“[Frank Warren] brought Amir Khan back from a devastating knockout loss to a world title in only three fights so I know that he can do it for me,” DeGale said.

Khan disputes the statement.

"It was a blessing [that] I got beat, and Frank Warren didn't bring me back. I brought myself back on top....just making it clear," Khan said.

Some critics would disagree with Khan, as Warren lined up Oisin Fagen, Marco Antonio Barrera and then WBA champion Andriy Kotelnik. Khan dominated all three opponents but none of the three were able to present a real danger.
