Bernard Hopkins, the former two division champion, does not believe that Miguel Cotto's face will be able to last the full twelve rounds of his November 14 bout with Manny Pacquiao. He feels that Pacquiao workrate, combined with the anticipated high-impact nature of the fight, will be Cotto's downfall.

"I don't believe that his face can take twelve rounds of this fight," Hopkins was quoted by Primera Hora.

Hopkins is not alone. During a recent interview with BoxingScene.com, trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. also made some comments about the Cotto being derailed by Pacquiao due to a cut.

Hopkins and Mayweather Sr. are concerned with the serious cut that Cotto suffered above his left eye during the June fight with Joshua Clottey. They both feel there is a good chance that Pacquiao will re-open Cotto's old cut during the fight.

Cotto, with the cut, was able to win a close decision over Clottey. He was lucky because Clottey does not have a high workrate and allowed Cotto to steal rounds. The same thing won't happen with Pacquiao. If Cotto is placed in the same position, he would find himself in a real danger. Pacuqiao's punches will be too fast and his workrate will too high for Cotto to get away.
