Zab Judah: Me and Marquez, We Need Each Other

By Mark Vester

IBF junior welterweight champion Zab Judah (41-6, 28KOs) is hoping that Juan Manuel Marquez (52-5, 38KOs) decides to move up in weight to pursue a fourth divisional title. During a recent interview, Marquez expressed his desire to become the first Mexican boxing to win a fourth divisional title. Marquez is trying to land a trilogy date with WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao. If the Pacquiao fight falls through, Marquez is willing to fight Judah.

"I think it's a fight that boxing needs. To have Zab Judah or Marquez fight a regular guy, it would be asburd for boxing. I'm very much looking forward to Marquez taking this challenge. He is a great fighter and I think this is what boxing needs. I think that we need each other. I'm looking forward to fighting a fighter with a great, big name and he's looking forward to being a world champion. With the will of God, it should happen. I'm just happy to be back in this position again," Judah told's Ryan Burton.

I actually agree with Zab here- they need each other. The JMM-Pac fight won't happen. JMM wants money as he knows he is near the end. JMM and Judah is a fight that can sell because Judah still has some…

Zab vs Juan is a great fight. I think that Zab is a very good fighter, but Juan is a great fighter. He would break Zab down. Juan is the more disciplined fighter. Plus he's smarter IMO. The 140 division…
