HBO was so impressed with the trio that appeared on the recent "Night of The Rising Stars," that a second appearance for all three, Alfredo Angulo, James Kirkland and Yuriorkis Gamboa, is being discussed with their promoter, Gary Shaw. MaxBoxing/BoxingScene.com's Steve Kim reports that a date of October 11 is being thrown around for the show.

The two of the three bouts could get very interesting. The fighters will be matched even tougher for their second stint on HBO. Former champion Jorge Barrios (47-3, 34KOs) is being discussed for Gamboa (10-0, 8KOs), the fighter with the most hype of the three. Gamboa will see action again on June 27 against Jose Rojas in Florida. Barrios has not been most active fighter in the last two-years, battling injuries and postponements that were beyong his control. Barrios may also go forward with a previously planned bout with Rocky Juarez.

It doesn't get any easier, Kim notes that Joel Julio (33-1, 30KOs) is one of the names being looked at for Kirkland (22-0, 19KOs). Julio has won six in a row since the sole loss to Carlos Quintana in 2006, with four of the wins coming by knockout. In some of those wins, Julio appeared to struggle at times. Kirkland can punch with either hand and has shown explosive power. A fight with Julio will be a step up in the right direction.
