Yunier Dorticos Wins, Targets Lebedev and Shumenov

By Ryan Burton

Winston Salem, North Carolina - WBA #2 ranked cruiserweight knockout artist Yunier "The KO Doctor" Dorticos (20-0, 19 KOs) kept his undefeated undefeated record intact by stopping Fulgencio Zuniga (27-12-1, 24 KOs) in the second round of his stay busy bout.

After the fight Dorticos said," I'm coming after WBA cruiserweight world champ Denis Lebedev and interim champion Beibut Shumenov. My time is now and Shumenov got lucky and fought BJ Flores instead of me.

"I would knock out Lebedev and Shumenov in the same night. I am the best in the cruiserweight division and it's about time someone like myself brings excitement to the 200 pound division," Dorticos told BoxingScene.com.

Caribe Promotions Vice President Louis Fonseca said that Dorticos is in line to face Lebedev or Shumenov next and will discuss the potential fight at the WBA Convention next week with Vice President Gilberto Mendoza in Panama.

Dorticos is an intriguing cruiserweight. Seems to sit down on his punches more than some of the other Cuban boxers.
