Willie Monroe Jr-Bryan Vera Set For 1/16, ESPN FNF

BoxingScene.com has been advised that 2014 Boxcino winner Willie Monroe Jr. will face rugged veteran Bryan Vera on the January 16th edition of ESPN Friday Night Fights.

The fought will headline a card at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY. The NABO and NABF middleweight titles will be at stake.

Monroe won all three of his matches in last year in ESPN's Boxcino middleweight tournament. He had a dominate unanimous decision victory over Brandon Adams in the finals.

Vera has lost his previous two bouts, both by decision to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. although many feel he won their first encounter. He also was stopped by Gabriel Rosado in a big Knockout Boxing match after the Chavez losses.

Pete Petrov, who the Boxcino lightweight tournament, will appear in also appear on the card against an opponent to be determined.

One guy on the way up, the other on the way down. Willie should have this and it's about time he's gotten another fight.

Different classes of athlete but Vera never let that stop him before. Interesting fight.
