Wilfredo Mendez-Axel Aragon Rematch Set, Aragon Out Due To Visa

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO - Due to problems with the visa of his original rival, the WBO 105 pound champion, Wilfredo "Bimbito" Méndez, will have a new opponent for the main event on the "WBO Champions Tournament" card - this Saturday, October 26, at the Rubén Zayas Montañez Coliseum in Trujillo Alto in a presentation of PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) in association with Spartan Boxing.

"The Colombian Gabriel Mendoza had some issues with his visa and will not be able to travel for his fight with Bimbito, but we worked on this immediately and now he will face the Mexican Áxel Aragón," said Peter Rivera, vice president of PRBBP.

Now Méndez (14-1, 5 KOs) will face a well-known rival, since in September of last year they fought for the WBO NABO belt and the Puerto Rican beat Aragón (13-2-1, 8 KOs) by unanimous decision, and now in the same scenario they will fight for the world title in the first defense of the Puerto Rican.

This is the best headline ever. How is a fight set and off in the same headline? It’s because Aragon’s name is used twice accidentally instead of Mendoza. It made me click though!!! It’s because Aragon was actually named twice…
