The heavyweight fight to make is the one between unified champion Anthony Joshua and WBC belt-holder Deontay Wilder. But Shelly Finkel, who advises Wilder, believes the chance of this match-up happening next are slim and none.

"And slim has left town as (Don) King would say," said Finkel, with a hearty laugh.

He explained to BoxingScene.com - "Look, it all depends on them,  if they're serious they'll come back to us. If they're not serious - which at this point they're not - they know we're not fighting for a flat fee, we're not fighting if there's no rematch clause even though we believe Wilder will knockout Joshua.

"You don't go into a fight of this magnitude without having a rematch clause. They were OK doing it for (Wladimir) Klitschko, why not us?"

This past weekend Joshua turned back the challenge of Alexander Povetkin, stopping the Russian in seven rounds. Wilder is scheduled to face Tyson Fury on December 1st.

So would this fight possibly take place at some point in 2019?

Finkel stated, ''not with the way they seem to be, from what I understand they want to fight (Dillian) Whyte next and if (Oleksandr) Usyk is to beat (Tony)Bellew then they'll fight him in the fall. So if that's correct, the answer is - no.

"He can yell and say anything he wants, Eddie (Hearn, the managing director of Matchroom Sports, which promotes, Joshua) but I'm a firm believer that if someone wants something they do it. If they don't, they don't."''

Hean has openly admitted that Whyte is going to be the top backup option to face Joshua in April - if no deal is reached with Wilder. And Usyk, who recently signed a co-promotional with Hearn, is looking to face Joshua in the fall of next year.
