Weights From Los Angeles: Gonzalez 130.4, Ochoa 134

By Jake Donovan

All fighters made weight for the next installment of Golden Boy Promotion’s LA Fight Club, which takes place Friday evening at Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The show will air live on Estrella TV.

In the main event, local favorite Christian “Chimpa” Gonzalez puts his unbeaten record on the line as he faces Alejandro Ochoa in a scheduled eight-round battle. Gonzalez (11-0, 10KOs) weighed 130.4 lbs., while Ochoa checked in at 134 lbs., significantly heavier but still within the lightweight limit.

Gonzalez – a 20-year old prospect from Buena Park, Calif. – plays the Belasco Theatre for his fourth straight fight. His last appearance came in September, scoring a 2nd round knockout of Luis Lizarraga, who faces Ivan Delgado (7-0-1, 2KOs) in the opening bout of the telecast.

Delgado – who also appeared on the September show at this venue - weighed in at 130.8 lbs, while Lizarraga tipped the scales at 130.4 lbs. for their scheduled six-round super featherweight bout.

The evening’s co-feature pits Oscar Negrete (11-0, 4KOs) in a scheduled six round bantamweight battle with Mexico’s Ernesto Guerrero. Negrete weighed 117.6 lbs.; Guerrero’s official weight has yet to be recorded as this goes to publish.
