WBA Orders Scoring Review of Perez-Crolla Decision

Manchester Arena (formerly M.E.N Arena), Manchester, Lancashire - WBA Vice President Gilberto Jesus Mendoza has ordered an official scoring review of Saturday’s championship fight in Manchester, England between WBA World lightweight champion Darleys Perez and Anthony Crolla.

The Pod Index will conduct the review on behalf of the WBA and will utilize ten judges—five judges will score it using the full point system and five will have the option to use half points.

The results of the review will be published as soon as they are available.

Crolla (29-4-3, 11KOs), and most in the arena, felt he had the fight won - but the bout ended up being a twelve round split draw with WBA lightweight champion Darleys Perez (32-1-1, 20KOs). Perez lost points for low blows in the eleventh and twelfth rounds. The three judges saw it 114-113 for Perez, 116-111 for Crolla, 113-113 for the draw.
