Viloria: I'll Do Whatever it Takes To Beat Gonzalez!

By Steve Kim

Despite capturing multiple world titles, fighting on Manny Pacquiao undercards, and headlining nationally televised cards throughout his career, Brian Viloria states that his bout on Saturday night - against the highly regarded Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez on the Golovkin-Lemieux undercard at the Madison Square Garden - is the biggest stage he's ever performed on.

"Yup, this is the real deal. This is the Super Bowl, this is the NBA Finals game seven, this is everything," he says.

And while it's a tried-and-true cliche in boxing to state that you are in the best shape of your life, Viloria is absolutely convinced this is the case with him.

"I can honestly say, yes, this is the best training camp I've ever had. I've never looked and felt better than I have for any of my other fights. So I'm really confident and really relaxed. I'm so ready for Saturday," said Viloria, who will be competing for Gonzalez's WBC flyweight title.

Weeks before the fight, Viloria was hovering around 115 pounds, just a few over the flyweight limit.

So does 'the Hawaiian Punch' box or bang with the Gonzalez, who has one of the most vaunted records in the sport at 43-0 (37 KO's).

Viloria says - "I do whatever it takes to get a 'W'. If I feel like boxing him will do the job, I'll do that. If I feel like going at him toe-to-toe will get it done, I'll do that. I'll adjust in the ring and adjust in the fight when I see fit."
