World ranked Victor "Viking" Terrazas has returned to training to keep himself in good shape and ready to fight for a world crown. By winning a recent WBA eliminator against Venezuelan Nehomar Cermeno, the Jalisco boxer took a major step towards securing a possible conquest of the first title in his career. He beat Cermeno on January 29 at the Arena Coliseo de Guadalajara.
Terrazas is looking for an immediate shot at the world bantamweight championship of the World Boxing Association (WBA) which is currently held by Japanese southpaw Akifumi Shimoda (23-2, 10KOs). Terrazas has a record of 29-2-1 with 16 knockouts. The champion won the title on January 31 in Tokyo with a dominating twelve round decision over countryman Ryol Li Lee.
