Victor Ortiz Aiming To "End" Floyd Mayweather's Career

HARRY POTTER fan Victor Ortiz has vowed to cast a magic spell on Floyd Mayweather in their blockbuster bout next month.

Victor Ortiz puts his WBC world welterweight belt on the line against the formidable Floyd Mayweather, who has remained unbeaten in his 41 professional bouts.

But the 24-year-old, who loves watching the Harry Potter films, said: “He has a great record – but it will be over when we meet. His career is going to be over after I climb into the ring with him.”

Ortiz, who loves all things British – with Potter top of the bill – is a potential opponent for WBA and IBF world light-welterweight champ Amir Khan.

And Khan will be paying close attention to the fight, which will be screened on Primetime. The Bolton bruiser said:

“I would like to fight the winner of Ortiz and Mayweather, maybe next year. That could be a good fight for me.

“It could even take place in the UK, where we haven’t had such a big, big fight for a long time.

“It’s one everyone would love to watch.

“They hate Mayweather in America, but in England they love him, so a fight between us would be big.

“He deserves respect, though, because he’s such a great fi ghter and a really great champion.

“It would be massive to get him over to England.

“I seem to remember him hinting he would like to fi ght in the UK, so this would be the fi ght for him.”

Such a fi ght would take place in the 147lbs welterweight division into which 24-year-old Khan intends to move next year. Right now though, all eyes will be on the Ortiz-Mayweather fi ght in Las Vegas on September 17. Mayweather – a six-time and fi ve-division world champion – returns to the ring after a 16-month absence and is raring to go.

The 34-year-old said: “I am excited to get back in the ring because Victor Ortiz is a great challenge.

“He is a young, fast and very strong champion – but I will show I am the best boxer in the world.”

But southpaw Ortiz has knocked out 22 of his 29 opponents and aims to add Mayweather to his list.

He said: “Mayweather can say all he wants. I love people who bark. But I don’t bark – I bite!”

if Ortiz gives the fight of his life AND PBF is off his game due to prolonged inactivity and being 34 now, Ortiz can do something special -- otherwise PBF will dominate
