Ireland's Michael Sweeney and Ian Tims almost went to work early at Matchroom's press conference in Dublin earlier today after a brief flare-up during their head-to-head.
Kugan Cassius of iFilm London filmed the scuffle between the two, which was prompted by Sweeney's decision to knock Tims' hat off his head towards the end of their stare down.
The two cruiserweights will get to settle their millinery difference of opinion on the undercard of Matthew Macklin's homecoming on November 15th.
Macklin meets Jorge Sebastian Heiland for the WBC International middleweight title at Dublin's 3Arena, but many fans will now be keeping an eye out for the Irish cruiserweight battle between County Mayo's Sweeney and Tims, who hails from Dublin so should have strong crowd support.
Sweeney, 12-3-1 (6) and Tims 10-2 (3), did not land any blows. In fact, it was broken up very quickly and didn't get ugly. Sweeney, 31, has since Tweeted links to the video of the incident, as well retweeting a few jokes, so there doesn't appear to be any lingering ill will towards his 34-year-old opponent.
