Terry Flanagan Expects Mikey Garcia To Win - Wants Unification

Former WBO lightweight world champion Terry Flanagan says he hopes to meet pound-for-pound ace Mikey Garcia in a world title unification fight.

30-year-old Garcia, one of boxing’s very best, takes on Sergey Lipinets exclusively live on BoxNation this Saturday night as he looks to become a four-weight world champion by claiming the IBF light-welterweight title.

Undefeated Flanagan has a tough task himself as he faces the unbeaten American Maurice Hooker from The O2 Arena in London on April 14th, with the vacant WBO light-welterweight world title up for grabs in that bout.

Should both Garcia and Flanagan prevail in their upcoming matchups the Manchester fighter is hoping that he can unify the belts by facing the formidable Garcia in a blockbuster 140-pound showdown.

“I’m looking for the likes of Garcia when he wins that title and I win mine. It’s a massive unification fight and I hope those are the fights that Frank [Warren] can make,” said Flanagan.

28-year-old Flanagan knows he has to be at his very best to beat his next opponent Hooker who he describes as a “world-level fighter” and a “threat” but told BoxNation it is a challenge he is confident of overcoming.

Manchester City fan Flanagan believes by seeing off Hooker he can take on the biggest names in and around the division, with Venezuelan hotshot Jorge Linares another name being targeted alongside Garcia.

“Linares is a fight that I’ve wanted for years. Everyone sees him as the best at lightweight but I think that I’ve got his number. My style, pressure, work rate, angles, power will all trouble him,” he said.

Flanagan should shut up and be satisfied with the paper belts his promoters set him up with, because Mikey and most of the top 10 at 140 would bust him up

Garcia would whip that ass

This Guy's a twat & only saying this because it's not going to happen. If he'd wanted unification then Robert Easter Jr was there @ 135Lb for long enough, but TF hid behind the WBO & still is!:bottle:

Offer Mikey a boatload of money to fight in the UK. I'm sure he'll be interested.

Do you really want Mikey , Terry? Because your resume points to someone who won’t take risks and is a Champ only because your promoter has major sway with a certain organization
