Team Montiel: Fernando is Knocking Donaire Out!

By Hesiquio Balderas

Acording to trainer Manuel Montiel, bantamweight Nonito Donaire will be knocked out by WBO/WBO champion Fernando "Cochulito" Montiel. The fight takes place on February 19 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

''Nonito is a great fighter but Fernando will be on him like a dog, he will put the pressure and that will be the key. I don't think that Donaire will be able to withstand the pressure and the knock out will come," said Manuel, trainer and brother of the champion.

For his part, Pedro Montiel, brother and fitness guru of team Montiel said:

''Fernando is ready to go 50 rounds. There is no way Donaire will last the distance, Don't get me wrong Nonito is a great fighter and we respect him, he is a great counter puncher but he will be force to make mistakes. When you put the pressure on your opponent in the right way, there is no doubt your foe will make mistakes," said Pedro from the training camp in Los Mochis, Mexico.

Manuel added: "Even though we are both part of Top Rank we know Nonito is the favorite of the company and we want to take his place in order to get the big paydays, we won't stop for nothing and Nonito will be defeated'."

Donaire has the tool to beat kochulito's ass. He got power, skill, counter punching ability, quickness. He's a complete fighter.

Donaire is gonna wait for that rush to come. He doesn't have Hasegawa's power btw so he's very capable of knocking Montiel out.

Donaire will use the distance to keep Montiel at bay. That aggression is gonna get him tagged with counters on the way in. Close fight for 3 rds or so but by the 8th or 9th, Montiel will be down…
