Team Estrada Hope To Get Sor Rungvisai Rematch in The Fall

By Miguel Rivera

The team of former world champion Juan Francisco 'Gallo' Estrada are hoping to have the opportunity to have a rematch with World Boxing Council super flyweight champion Srisaket Sr Rungvisai of Thailand in September, as long as both come out victorious and unharmed in their respective commitments mid-year.

Estrada lost on a close decision against Sor Rungvisai on February 24 in California, and Zanfer Promotions in combination with Latin Box Sports hope to finalize his return for the month of June on US or Mexican soil, and there has even been talk of a doubleheader with Miguel Berchelt and Estrada.

"We have been working on the return of Estrada after the great performance he gave and unfortunately the judges did not see what everyone saw, him winning; but he will return more dangerous than ever," said Juan Hernandez, co-promoter of the Estrada, to ESPN Deportes.

Hernandez also stated - "We are in talks to return in the month of June, probably in the United States, but if not there is always the possibility of Mexico. There are some opponents in mind, but, above all, we firmly believe that we can face Srisaket in the summer, and we think that if everything goes well,September is a good possibility."

Hernandez revealed that one month before the fight with Sor Rungvisai, Estrada had to be hospitalized for a muscular issue that prevented him from training for a week and this could have damaged his preparation.

"Without taking anything away from the champion, but Estrada was hospitalized a month after the fight with a severe muscle issue in his neck, so he could not train for a week and I think that did not allow him to reach 100 percent. There are things that happen and people do not know, but Estrada does not make excuses and I am sure that in the rematch another song will be playing," Hernández stated.

[QUOTE=chrisJS;18598475]I thought it was even. At the fight live I felt Estrada won by 7-5 but then on DVR I felt 7-5 either way is fine but came out with 6-6 the two times I've re-watched it. Thoroughly enjoyable fight…

First time I saw the bout it looked to me that SSR dominated. After the second and third viewing, the gap slightly closed. I feel that SSR’s style is the more captivating of the two, so he always appears to…
