WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30KOs), and his Cuban trainer Pedro Diaz, paid no attention to the trash talk being thrown around during Friday's official weigh-in at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. As the two boxers took part in a long face off, Mayweather (42-0, 26KOs) broke the silence by attempting to verbally intimidate Cotto.

“He said that I was going to face the best and I answered that he was going to face Miguel Cotto. Mayweather can do whatever he wants. In fact, he does not motivate me in anything. This is not a fight with Puerto Rico against the United States, but all the Latin countries are joined against Floyd Mayweather," Cotto told Carlos Gonzalez.

Diaz noticed that Mayweather was already emotional before the words broke out. He felt Mayweather was nervous.

“Neither anything nor anybody can intimidates us. I said to Cotto that he should not walk away [from the face off], that he should breathe softly and that Mayweather was going to walk away and he went away. [Mayweather] trembled. He was chewing gum because he could not control his emotions. We came to win and [tonight] we are going to get what we came for," Diaz siad.
