The war of words continues between former junior welterweight champion Devon Alexander and WBA welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi. Over the past several months both sides have taken shots at each other here on BoxingScene and Team Alexander has fired most recent salvo.

Alexander's trainer and manager, Kevin Cunningham, told BoxingScene that its time for Malignaggi to back up his words and face his fighter in the ring. Alexander has August 18th reserved for his next fight on Showtime while Malignaggi is looking to return in October at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY on their inaugural boxing show.

Cunningham has noticed how other fighters have recently stepped up and agreed to challenging fights and feels that the Magic Man should follow suit.

"(Saul) Alvarez is stepping up and fighting Williams and newly crowned (junior elterweight) WBC champ Danny Garcia is taking on (Amir) Khan. Malignaggi needs to man up and back up all of his sh*t talking and face Devon," Cunningham told Boxingscene.com.
