World Boxing Council President Jose Sulaiman says a match up between the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is unlikely, because of the weight issue.

Don Jose said he doubts Canelo could make the middleweight limit, as he’s even a bit under the super welterweight beam. While for Julio Jr to make the middleweight limit is: “A sacrifice.”

He said that fight is certainly not inevitable, and he has his doubts.

Concerning a rematch between Chavez Jr and Sergio Martinez, Jose Sulaiman is more hopeful. He commented: “I hope they will, and the WBC will support it one hundred percent.

“I know that Martinez has in his head that round (when he was knocked down). He cannot take it out of his mind. And Chavez Jr by doing what he did, knows that he can knock out Martinez.

“In the minds of all the fans there are those same questions. So I’m sure it (a rematch) will take place.”
