WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm (37-2-2, 16 KOs), who promotes himself, is waiting for Vitali Klitschko (44-2, 40 KOs) to finalize his next ring appearance, in position to take place on September 1st or September 8th in either Ukraine or Germany. Vitali will likely defend his WBC heavyweight title against Manuel Charr, but the details have yet to be set, despite reports to the contrary.
Sturm is also looking to return to action in early September in a unification against IBF king Daniel Geale (27-1, 15KOs). Sturm planned to stage his fight at Hannover's TUI Arena, but it turned out that a few days earlier the venue had been reserved for the 8th of September by K2 Promotions. Sturm is trying to avoid going head to head with the Vitali's next defense, especially in Germany, and wants to wait until K2 finalize the heavyweight's event.
