Lightweight contender Jose Felix Jr. (29-1-1, 24KOs) has advised BoxingScene.com that terms have been finalized for the once beaten fighter to face former multi-division champion Humberto Soto (65-8-2, 35KOs) on June 27th. The fight will take place at 140 pounds and will be scheduled for 10 rounds.

The bout will open up the HBO televised broadcast featuring Tim Bradley facing Jessie Vargas for the vacant WBO welterweight title at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.

Even though Felix is taking the fight on short notice, he was already in training camp for a fight against Yakubu Amidu that was scheduled for June 13th.

Felix is hoping to follow in the footsteps of promotional stablemate Terence Crawford who stepped up in weight on short notice under similar circumstances in Spring 2013 to dominate Breidis Prescott in his HBO debut. The win served as the springboard for the then unknown Crawford's career. He has been an HBO mainstay ever since.
