As previously reported, Edgar Sosa (36-5, 20KOs) would probably make a defense of his WBC junior flyweight title against tough Filipino fighter Rodel Mayol (25-4-1, 19KOs) Mayol is coming off two tough fights with WBO champion Ivan Calderon. Reports in Mexico suggest the fight is indeed set for November 21 in Mexico. The event looks like it's going to take place at the Palenque de Gallos in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas.

Sosa claims Mayol will be his final fight at junior flyweight before he moves up in weight. He claimed the same thing a defense or two back. Sosa will hold on to his title. Just in case he moves up and loses, then he can move back down and still have a parachute. Prospect Carlos Zarate Jr. is going to see action on the Sosa-Mayol undercard.
