WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (51-2-2, 28KOs) doesn't seem to care which fighter, Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Saul Alvarez, will win on September 14th - but he wants the winner.  Martinez is recovering from injuries that he suffered during his April victory over Martin Murray. He is expected back in the first quarter of 2014. Martinez says he is obligated for two more fights with HBO and then afterwards he will consider if the time is right to retire from boxing. Until then, he wants the two biggest fights possible when he returns.

"I have to be out of action for six months, the biggest problem is the knee, I may have to operate again. The doctors decided that for now I have to rest and my return will be in the first quarter of 2014. Today Mayweather is the best. But if Canelo wins, he will be the best. I want either one of them, I do not care who wins. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is still a possibility. I have no problems with a rematch, I'll fight anyone, but if he wants me he has tio wait. I'm not thinking about retirement. I'm signed for two more fights with [HBO], after that I will sit down and consider whether I plan hang up the gloves," Martinez said.
