Scott Quigg Ready: Munroe Was Shocked By My Power

SCOTT QUIGG has spent the past three weeks in Tinseltown, but he hasn’t been seeing the sights.

Most Brits who head to Hollywood spend their time checking out the Walk of Fame or Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. The only place that has had Quigg star struck though is Freddie Roach’s Wildcard Gym.

Quigg headed Stateside with his gym mates in mid-August but decided to stay behind for a few more weeks of sparring when they returned home.

“I came over here to train hard and that's just what I have been doing. No sightseeing or anything like that, it’s just been training, bed and then training again,” he said.

“I’ve sparred with loads of kids but I have become friends with Julian Ramirez, an undefeated prospect with Golden Boy (who is also the nephew of two-time world super-featherweight champion Genaro Hernandez). I was even invited to his house and that was nice.

“I’d like to bring Julian over to spar with me in Bolton and then I can return the hospitality.”

During his time in America, Quigg has survived a minor earthquake in LA and tested his gun shooting skills in Las Vegas.

But the only thing he’s setting his sights on now is a rematch with Rendall Munroe.

A clash of heads ended their June meeting in the third round and British champ Quigg is determined to prove his dominance before the year is out.

He said: “Our first fight was just starting to get going when the heads clashed. I've heard that Rendall has recovered and I am glad for him.

“I think Rendall was shocked by my power when he got in with me and I know that I will have to raise my game again for the rematch.

“I don't think there’ll be many earthquakes in England, but there is a storm brewing and trust me come the night I will be ready.”

If this is on the undercard of Hatton's comeback fight I may go to it. The atmosphere for the return of the Hitman will be something to behold.

How come the British title's not on the line, when 2 British boxers are fighting & 1's the British champion? Quigg said he wanted the Lonsdale belt out-right. Well he's never gonna get it fighting for meaningless interim straps!
