Former world featherweight champion Scott Harrison (25-2-2, 14KOs) is to return to the ring in the summer for a ten-round super-featherweight bout as the Scot aims to waste no time with four, six or eight rounders on his return.

The 34 year-old, who has signed with Ricky Burns’ promoter Alex Morrison, will first fight at the Kelvin Hall, and may then be ready to launch an assault on the British title held by Gary Buckland at the back end of the year.

"We have booked the Kelvin Hall for June 8," Morrison told heraldscotland.com. "The plan is to match Scott with a top-level foreign opponent as there is no time to lose and no point in anything other than Scott's first fight being a real test against credible opposition.

"People have to remember that Scott never lost his title inside the ring and, from what I have seen of him in training, he is even stronger now and more hungry than ever to make this work. I will take a lot of personal satisfaction in helping Scott reclaim what is his and proving the doom-mongers wrong."

Harrison has much to prove since his forced ring absence and the former WBO champion will be aiming to be given a high ranking by some of the top organizations if he can claim victory on June 8th.
