Saunders-Monroe To Be Streamed in the U.S. on Youtube

By Steve Kim

As Willie Monroe Jr. challenges WBO middleweight belt-holder, Billy Joe Saunders, at the Copper Box Arena in England, American boxing fans will have a chance to see this match-up live on Saturday.

Matt Rowland of Banner Promotions advised - "We're going to be streaming the fight live on the Banner Promotions Youtube page and we're going to have the co-feature the the main event."

According to Rowland, this broadcast will start at approximately 5:30 pm(ET). Back in April as Petr Petrov faced WBO lightweight champion, Terry Flanagan in the U.K., Banner Promotions cut a deal to have this fight broadcast on Twitter.

"But with college football and everything else going on we wanted to use Youtube," explained Rowland. "We think we can reach more people."

Also on that card, Ilford Light-Heavyweight Anthony Yarde takes on Norbert Nemesapati for the WBO Intercontinental and European belts and teenage Heavyweight sensation Daniel Dubois takes on AJ Carter for the Vacant Southern Area strap in only his fifth contest

And, some of the up-and-coming prospects in the Frank Warren stable will see action, including Welling Super-Featherweight Archie Sharp; Ilford Super-Bantamweight Lucien Reid; Fulham Super-Middleweight Zak Chelli and Erith Flyweight Jake Pettit feature. Ilford Welterweight Hamza Sheeraz, Tamworth Light-Heavyweight Ryan Hatton and Ilford Super-Middleweight Umar Sadiq all make their highly-anticipated pro debuts.

Tickets for Saunders vs. Monroe Jr priced at £40, £50, £70, £100, £150, £200 and £250 (VIP/Hospitality) are available from:

This is a great move from Banner Promotions. We'll definitely be checking out this chess match which Saunders will definitely win. Monroe is a good name, but not the kind who can take a belt from a boxer of Saunders…

This is great news. But whoever wins is just a sacrifice lamb to get slaughtered by the winner of Canelo/GGG. lol

Not impressed with Monroe, just gets hyped up cause he was one of the cans that GGG crushed. BJS should win a UD clearly.
