Saul Rodriguez Falls Ill, Knocked Off From 3/14 Card

By Francisco Salazar

On Thursday, Boxingscene.com reported Saul Rodriguez was fighting Jerry Nardo on March 14 at the Civic Auditorium in Glendale, California.

Later that afternoon, Boxingscene.com received a text message from Top Rank matchmaker Brad Goodman that Rodriguez came down with a case of the chicken pox.

Rodriguez will unlikely fight on March 14 in Glendale. No word if Nardo will fight someone who would replace Rodriguez.

Boxingscene.com also announced yesterday unbeaten junior lightweight Toka Kahn Clary will fight Edwin Solis in an eight round bout. That bout could be elevated to main event status or it could remain as the co-main event.

Two canceled fights in a row for Rodriguez now. Visa issues for his last opponent caused a cancelation, and now chicken pox forces another one. Not the best start to 2015.
