Saul Alvarez-Matthew Hatton is Close, Says Schaefer

By Lem Satterfield

According to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, he is close to finalizing a deal to match unbeaten Saul Alvarez against England's Matthew Hatton (41-4-2, 16 KOs), the younger brother of former world champion, Ricky Hatton, in an HBO televised fight on March 5 in Los Angeles. Schaefer had targeted Alavarez (35-0-1, 26 knockouts) for a bout against WBA welterweight champ Vyacheslav Senchenko (31-0, 20 KOs). He says "the Senchenko people are out-pricing themselves. But, the deal for Alvarez vs. Hatton is close.

"Saul Alvarez will definitely be fighting on March 5. We are close to getting locked in on Matthew Hatton," Schaefer said. "We're just waiting for contracts and basically doing our job to get these things done. But we made big progress this week, and you know, we'll hopefully start getting signed contracts in next week."
Hatton is not a bum. He is better and more entertaining than Cintron and most Puto Ricans, who only run and hold.
I didn't know this was the "dumbest thing you ever heard a casual fan say" thread

Goodnight little Matty Hatton. Thanks for coming. Seriously tho, great fight but can only see it ending one way. Props to Matt for taking the fight either way. There should be more boxers with chips about their older brothers on…
